We, motorcyclists, are so passionate about riding and enjoying life. We are so deep into this passion that we take it to the next level where we sometimes do stupid things. Most motorcyclists are so determined that they don’t realize just how stupid we are, doing these things just to fulfill our needs.
Here we are today to tell you about the most stupid things that I and many motorcycle riders have done in their lifetimes. So, you better go through this list and ensure you won’t do any of these things in the future or repeat any other stupid things that you have already done.
Top Stupid Things Most Motorcycle Riders Do
Taking the Long Route
Well, I hate to admit it, but I’ve done this very thing many times. Most riders who use motorcycles for his or her daily commute to work sometimes finish early and take a long route home via mountains or highways just to enjoy the ride a little longer.
Saving on Fuel
The second thing is also very common among motorcycle riders, saving their money on fuel until they see a low price at the ‘Servo’. Now, you fill up, even though your motorcycle might have been running low on fuel for a long time.
They just don’t care.
Farkling
Now, what do you do with all the money you’ve saved on fuel? Why, of course, you use it to Farkle your motorcycle. These bike enthusiasts install accessories to customize their machine.
C’mon, you say to yourself. I know you’re a motorcycle enthusiast but instead of regular fill-ups on fuel, you spend your money on cosmetics; what’s up with that?
Afraid to Get Dirty
As a professional rider, I must say, “You spend around 30-40 thousand dollars on your motorcycle and 5-6 thousand dollars on your riding gear. But, why are you so afraid of putting your wheels in the dirt.
That equipment is made for such adventure trips and getting dirty while having fun at the same time.
So, don’t feel shy. Make a move. That’s what all motorcyclists do.
Resale Value
Keeping your bike away from off-road riding and getting dirty is a sure sign that you are concerned about the resale value of your motorcycle.
Checking your mileage regularly or limiting your travel to well-surfaced roads to preserve your bike and keep it out of harm’s way are clear signs you are still looking for a way to save bucks, as much as possible.
Well, I’m going to tell you straight, “This is not what Motorcycle Enthusiasts do.”
Performance Freak
“Power”
Yeah..!! Absolutely right. Everybody is looking for a way to get power in their hands. The same thing goes for motorcycle riders. Many motorcyclists spend thousands of dollars for tuning and improving the performance of their bikes. Things like a titanium exhaust system, dyno testing, and power commander, etc. However, these are riders who have never driven on a racetrack, ever.
So, why would they need such power and tuning? Only one reason – to show off right?
Embarrassment
We all want to become a Stunt King, right?
All just to prove that we have that ‘something’ in us. But usually, it does not end up well. If I recall, when I tried pulling a wheelie the first time, it was so small that my friends laughed. The second time, I was so clouded with the embarrassment that I almost flipped my bike and had to drop it.
The same type of embarrassment happens when we put our motorcycle on the side stand and before you realize it, the bike comes crashing down.
Well, this usually happens when you are either distracted or you just don’t know “How to park your motorcycle correctly?”
So, don’t do that. You don’t have to prove to anyone what stunts you can do.
Anyways, I did most of the above stupid things. How about you? If you have anything to add, then don’t forget to mention it in the comment section below.
