Shoei has a long, successful history of building durable modular helmets. The Shoei Neotec Modular helmet was also designed for long-distance motorcycle riding, road trips, and ADV touring purposes. Basically, it is an all-around helmet that is suitable for every occasion. Since Shoei Neotec became available on the market, it has been considered as an evolution in modular or flip-up helmets. It is a modular helmet but still, you can’t put it in the category with other modular or flip-up helmets.

Shell Design & Protection
The Shoei Neotec helmet is available in 3 shell sizes that are constructed of AIM Multi-Composite material and includes the Dual EPS Liner feature for maximum protection. A five-ply matrix technology composition that provides significant protection to reduce severe head injuries in an accident. And its thick shell-integrated spoiler provides excellent strength and proper weight distribution. This means the chances of lift and drag during high-speed riding are considerably reduced. Shoei’s Neotec quality of materials and the way the liner is assembled is on the next level as compared to other modular helmets.
On top of that, the Shoei Neotec is a DOT Approved helmet. Now, you don’t need to worry about safety because it has already gone through harsh test conditions to become one of the lightest and most durable helmets you can get.
Face Shield
This Shoei helmet features the new CNS-1 Shield design, which is claimed to be taller and wider than the CX-1V shield and blocks 99% of the sun’s UV rays. It also comes equipped with a Pinlock EVO fog-resistant system. This system will prevent the shield from fogging but also will take some extra time during installation.
The Built-in QSV-1 Internal sun shield (Sun Visor) is another feature that Shoei provides in the Neotec helmet. And, as we all know, this Sun Visor is very functional on hot, sunny days. This internally rotating sun visor can be operated by a slider on the left-hand side of the helmet. The Shoei Sun Visor is a piece of art you know! And it is not some ordinary sun visor but it is the QSV-1 internal sun shield, which enables you to actually focus on riding no matter how long your trip is. The shield offers UV-protection and a wide field of vision without any distortions.
Ventilation System & Aerodynamics
The ventilation system of the Neotec helmet is what I like most about this Shoei helmet. It is excellent and very simple too. The truth is, Shoei’s ventilation system is much better compared to other flip-ups and full-face helmets available on the market. There are two different locations for intake airflow on the Neotec helmet.
First, let’s talk about the “Lower Vent.” There is a shutter on chin vent with a wide flap. Once the chin vent is opened, air will come through the vent into the top of the chin bar and into the helmet. And when you press it closed, the airflow stops. It is that simple yet works so well.
But there is a disadvantage of no airflow inside a helmet once the chin vent is closed.
The second intake vent is the “Top Vent.” The top vent in the Shoei Neotec helmet is also very simple. Unlike the chin vent, there is no shutter system in the top vent; only a simple slider to push. Three adjustable positions of the slider in the upper vent allows for optimal air intake. The Shoei Neotec has wind-tunnel tested aerodynamics, which improved cool air intake and the removal of hot air.
Interior
The interior is another strong feature offered in the Neotec helmet. It has a fully removable, washable, and replaceable 3D interior liner. Moreover, the Multi-layer cheek pads allow the rider to wear eyeglasses inside the helmet. These cheek pads provide more comfort and additional stability. And lastly, it also included a chin curtain that can be inserted into the chin bar to reduce turbulence and noise level.
