Let’s take a look at what this helmet has to offer for touring riders:

Shell Design & Protection Level
The Scorpion EXO-T1200 is constructed from a TCT (Thermodynamic Composite Technology) composite fiber, which is exclusively made by Scorpion. It is a proprietary 5-layer blend of interlaced and specially formulated fiberglass, Aramid, and organic poly-resin fiber to provide strength and a layered impact absorption protection to the rider’s head.
In the event that you’re involved in a motorcycle accident, the TCT shell of the Scorpion EXO-T1200 helmet will absorb the impact and protect your head from multiple head injuries. Scorpion EXO-T1200 is a DOT-218 approved motorcycle helmet that includes a 5-year warranty.
Face Shield & Visor
The Scorpion EXO-T1200 helmet is accompanied by an EverClear face shield, which is 100% optically clear and provides a clear and wide field of vision to the riders. This EverClear face shield comes with a modern fog-free technology, which has an anti-scratch hardened coating on it and provides 100% protection from UV rays.
It has a tool-less shield changing system that Scorpion calls, the Ellie-Tec ratchet system, which uses an elliptical motion that creates 7.6 mm of movement and removes the shield safely from the eye-port, ensuring a proper seal.
Ventilation System
The reason the Scorpion EXO-T1200 attracts the attention of touring riders is its ventilation system, which is one of the best on the market. The EXO-T1200 has Scorpion’s VSV (Venturi Super Vent) ventilation system, which is designed for the sole purpose of providing maximum airflow during long rides. It is an innovative ventilation system design and is wind-tunnel tested to increase the Venturi effect within the helmet. The Venturi effect is a creation of negative air pressure to maintain the proper airflow within the helmet.
The Scorpion EXO-T1200 helmet has two intake forehead ports where one allows cool air to enter the helmet while another passes cool air across three exhaust ports. In doing so, the second vent passes the air through the graduated super vent air channel to increase the Venturi effect and remove more warm air from the helmet.
However, it also becomes the downfall of the helmet in terms of noise. On one hand, these vents are doing an excellent job in keeping the head of the rider cool and dry while on the other hand, attracting unnecessary wind, and creating noise within the helmet.
But, if you use earplugs while riding to reduce the noise, then you’re good to go.
Interior
The Scorpion EXO-T1200 has incorporated the KwikWick III – the third generation of moisture-wicking material with anti-microbial and hypoallergenic properties, which allow you to feel cool in warm weather and warm in cool weather. This liner feels very plush and gives your cheeks a soft touch. The Scorpion EXO-T1200 also has a KwikFit cheek pad system to accommodate eyeglasses. But, what I admire most is, the Scorpion has introduced the AirFit cheek pad inflation system.
With this system, you can ensure the best fit of the helmet on your head by squeezing the inflating bulb to tighten the helmet accordingly.
Apart from this, the helmet comes with an emergency quick-release cheek pad system to remove the cheek pads by pulling the two tabs underneath the helmet to allow easy removal of the head from the helmet. It also has Communication-ready speaker pockets for using motorcycle Bluetooth headsets while riding.
