Icon is a very controversial brand. Some bikers love it, while others not so much. Icon’s mission is to create motorcycle helmets that are totally different from all other helmets on the market. This is a remarkable step in the motorcycle helmet industry, as some may say that it has became a little bit boring and stagnant. I don’t really agree with this statement, as there are dozens of other super-cool motorcycle helmets with really interesting designs. But, it is true, that some brands aren’t giving enough importance to the innovation.
The Icon Airflite, on the other hand, is a really bold and innovative helmet. Almost everything about it is completely new and interesting. It would actually be possible to create a whole new category of motorcycle helmets based on the Icon Airflite. On top of that, it comes in an insane amount of interesting types of finishes and graphic designs. You can even buy some extra accessories such as face shields and spoilers of different colors, and cobmine them to create your very own personalized look of the helmet.
These all are the reasons why we have decided to write an extended review of this cool motorcycle helmet. In this review, we will cover all of the most popular graphic designs of the Icon Airflite helmet, so you can decide yourself, which one is the best for you.
Top 6 Icon Airflite Helmet Graphic Designs
Icon Airflite Battlescar 2 Review
The main focus of this review will be given to the Battlescar 2 graphic design of the Icon Airflite helmet. In my opinion, this graphic is the most desirable one, due to its similarity to the “Master Chief” helmet, a legendary piece of equipment from the famous Halo video games series.
Let’s take a good look at the Icon Arflite Battlescar 2 and discuss some of the most important aspects of this full-face motorcycle helmet to see how safe and comfortable it really is.
Shell Design & Protection
The shell of the Icon Airflite Battlescar 2 helmet has a very long oval shape and the finish has a rugged and premium feel.
It has a futuristic military-style graphic design with some black lines and an aerodynamic spoiler on the back that is both removable and interchangeable. The helmet has a very specific aggressive look and it is almost impossible to mistake it for any other motorcycle helmet available on the market.
The helmet is DOT and ECE certified, there is no SNELL certification unfortunately. Its shell is made from an injection molded polycarbonate that is supposed to be both durable and lightweight. The Icon Airflite motorcycle helmet comes in multiple different shell sizes ranging from XS to 3XL and it weighs about 3.7 lbs (1.7 kg).
As you can see, the helmet is a little bit on the heavier side, compared to other full-face helmets. In fact, this is one of the very few downsides of this helmet. Other than that, there are almost no negatives worth mentioning.
Face Shield & Sun Visor
The Icon Airflite’s face shield is the first aspect of this helmet that will make you speechless. At first look, it almost seems like it’s an open-face helmet with a massive shield over the eye port area. But soon, you will realize that the shield of the helmet is actually going all the way over the chin bar and that it is indeed a full-face helmet.
But, that’s not all what’s cool about the face shield of the Icon Airflite helmet! You will not only get a shield of specific color with every version of the helmet, but also an option to purchase many additional colors if you wish. Icon offers around a dozen of different face shields that can be combined with any version of the Airflite helmet. The same goes with the spoiler on the back!
Apart from that, it also comes with an integrated drop-down sun visor and a fog-free technology. If you would like to use a pinlock with this helmet, it can be purchased separately.
The Battlescar 2 helmet comes with a fantastic gold-tinted face-shield that really goes well together with the futuristic shape and the green camouflage graphic design of the helmet.
Ventilation & Airflow
You may be wondering… “How can there be a helmet with a face-shield this big and enough airflow at the same time?” The answer is simple… It has a big chin vent right under the shield, with cut-outs implemented directly into the body of the shield. This all creates an amazing effect that you won’t find on any other helmet.
The ventilation of the Icon Airflite helmet is surprisingly good. As mentioned before, there is one big vent in the chin area. Other than that, there are also 2 additional intake vents on the top and 2 exhaust vents on the back of the helmet. With all the vents open, it can actually compete with most of the dual-sport helmets or even some dirt bike helmets. This is mostly achieved thanks to the longer chin bar with the huge vent in the front.
All in all, the Icon Airflite is extremely well ventilated helmet and you will get enormous amounts of airflow while wearing it under any circumstances.
Interior & Comfort Level
The helmet comes with a removable and washable Hydradry iterior liner with moisture-wicking and antimicrobial properties. The comfort level is very good for a mid-tier helmet, but definitely not as good as in some premium helmets. Due to its longer shape, the Arflite helmet fits best the long oval head types, so keep that in mind.
The Icon Airflite is a relatively quiet motorcycle helmet, but because of its huge air vents and high amounts of airflow, you should always expect some noise issues while riding at higher speed. Also, there is a small issue about the top of the face shield. Sometimes, you won’t be able to get it 100% sealed, therefore it can leave a tiny gap pushing some additional air into the helmet, which can cause some whistling in certain angles.
Inside the helmet, you will notice a pair of speaker cutouts, they will make it easier for you to use a Bluetooth communication device with it. However, due to the higher noise levels and uncommon shape of the shell, the Icon Airflite helmet is actually not that suitable for most kinds of Bluetooth headsets such as Sena 30K. For a smooth installation, you will need to do some slight modifications to the plastic parts of the helmet.

️Pros: Aerodynamic stability, Excellent airflow, Very comfortable, Original shield design, Cool military graphic design, Gold-tinted shield included
Cons: A little too heavy, Hard to clean
Icon Airflite Rubatone Review
The Rubatone version of the Icon Airflite helmet has a smooth rubberized finish and it comes in matte black color. You will only get a clear visor with it, but you can buy a tinted one separately.
The Icon Airflite Rubatone will really please those who are looking for a minimalistic stealthy design and a solid black color. It goes well with almost any kind of motorcycle, especially with a sportbike. It is not that fancy and eye-catching compared to most other variations of the Airflite helmet, but it offers more professional look.
Unfortunately, there is one flaw that you can experience with this helmet. The rubberized finish has a problem of catching a lot of dust and grease over time. Therefore, you will end up cleaning this helmet very often and it is also not a very easy process to clean this kind of material properly. We would recommend to use a special matte-paint helmet cleaner on it.
On the other hand, thanks to the rubber, the helmet feels very rugged and sturdy. In my opinion, glossy helmets are much more prone to smaller scratches compared to matte and rubberized helmets. This fact makes the Rubatone helmet the ideal choice for bikers who don’t want to worry about loads of tiny scratches on their helmet and don’t mind a little bit of dirt and fingerprints on it.

️Pros: Aerodynamic stability, Excellent airflow, Very comfortable, Original shield design, Stealthy black color, Rubberized finish
Cons: A little too heavy, Hard to clean
Icon Airflite Quicksilver Review
Another interesting graphics of the Icon Airflite helmet is called “Quicksilver”. As you can already guess from the name and even see on the picture, it has a silver finish. But it is not just a simple silver graphic design as you would expect.
The Quicksilver helmet has a handcrafted liquid silver design and the metallic silver texture was achieved thanks to a professional hand-sanding technique. This means that you won’t find two pieces with the exact same finish. Every single helmet has a slightly different lines and color shade on its shell. This makes the helmet extremely good option for you, if you want to stand out from the crowd and look completely different than any other biker.
The Icon Airflite Quicksilver helmet comes with a clear shield included in the box, but I personally think that a tinted shield will make it look even cooler. A huge advantage of the Icon Airflite helmet with the Quicksilver graphics is the fact that silver goes really well with any other color you can imagine. This creates an enormous potential for some cool looking color combinations such as silver shell and orange or iridium shield.
Another great plus of the brushed silver finish is that you won’t have to worry about scratching the helmet that much. Any small scratches will be literally unnoticeable on the texture of the helmet.

Icon Airflite QB1 Review
If you are looking for a glossy black version of the Icon Airflite helmet that also comes in multiple different colors, then the QB1 might be the perfect one for you. It is available in black, green, blue and red color and it has a cool Icon logo on the sides. It also comes with a clear shield included in the box. The clear face shield can be replaced for a tinted one, which is unfortunately not included and you will have to buy it separately.
The multiple colors of this version of the Airflite helmet allow for some matching combinations with different kinds of popular motorcycle brands such as Honda and Kawasaki that usually use a specific colors on their bikes. Also, the glossy finish doesn’t require any special cleaning procedures, which you will usually have to do with the matte ones.
The Icon Airflite QB1 is a great option for those who are looking for a good looking and affordable motorcycle helmet that comes in punchy colors suiting the style of their sportbikes.

Icon Airflite Skull 18 Review
The Skull 18 is my favorite graphic design of the Icon Airflite helmet. There are not that many bikers that would prefer having a skull on their helmet and I used to be one of them. But when I saw the skull graphics on this helmet, I have actually changed my mind.
The graphic design of the Icon Airflite Skull 18 is very different from the usual boring skull designs we are used to see on motorcycle helmets and tattoos, etc. This one looks very artistic and classy compared to some other graphics in this category. It is quite obvious that they have hired a skilled artist to create such a beautiful design.
The graphic was originally used on a different Icon helmet called Mainframe and it has quickly became one of the Icon’s best selling graphics of all time. It features a group of five skulls going from one side of the helmet, around the back, all the way up to the other side of the helmet. A cool little detail is the Icon logo in the middle of the skull on the back. Other than that, there are also chains with a bloody red barbwire surrounding the skulls and a classic Icon logo on the sides.
The Icon Airflite Skull 18 has, in my opinion, the best looking skull graphic design you will find on any motorcycle helmet. The helmet is done in glossy finish and it comes with a clear face shield included in the box.

️Pros: Aerodynamic stability, Excellent airflow, Very comfortable, Original shield design, Super-cool skull graphic
Cons: A little too heavy
Icon Airflite Blockchain Review
The Icon Airfite Blockchain is one of the newest graphics added to this popular motorcycle helmet. It is available in two colors (green, red) and offers an interesting new feature. It has that classic 80s science fiction graphic design with a rubberized texture on it and it comes with 2 face shields included in the box, (one clear and one dark smoke). The helmet also looks sweet with a gold face shield on it, which you can buy separately.
You are probably curious about the brand new feature, right? Icon has equipped the Blockchain version of the Airflite helmet with an additional plastic part that can be attached to the top of the shell. It’s called “Supervent” and it is a cooling system that was designed to improve the ventilation of the helmet.
Overall, I can already tell that this new version of the Airflite helmet called Blockchain is definitely worth checking. For a price of around $300, you will get a super cool graphic, 2 face shields and an additional cooling feature included. You won’t find many other motorcycle helmets in this price category offering so many extra features.

The Icon Airflite is undoubtedly a very interesting motorcycle helmet that offers a great value for the money. You will not only get one of the most innovative designs and graphics with this helmet, but also lots of extra features and interchangeable accessories. The quality of the construction of this helmet is also very good and the airflow is outstanding.
It has some flaws such as the higher weight and average noise levels, but these are usual downsides of most mid-tier helmets. What is a real letdown though, is the problematic installation of Bluetooth headsets, but not all of us use them right? Nevermind, nothing is perfect.
So, if you are looking for a good all around and cool looking full-face motorcycle helmet for street use, then we would definitely recommend checking the Icon Arflite out!
