So, without wasting any more time, let’s take a look at the latest HJC RPHA ST Helmet Review where you will learn about the RPHA ST in detail.
HJC RPHA ST Motorcycle Helmet Review
Shell Design & Protection Level
The HJC RPHA ST is available in three different shell sizes – 1st for XS-S Sizing, 2nd for M-L Sizing, and 3rd for XL-2XL Sizing. All these shells meet the DOT safety standards and are ECE 22.05-approved for full-face helmets.
The shell of the HJC RPHA ST motorcycle helmet is the composition of a matrix of Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Aramid, and organic non-woven fabric. Using CAD technology, HJC made an extremely lightweight shell, yet strong enough to absorb heavy impacts during a motorcycle crash. This shell design is the signature design of HJC called Advanced P.I.M (Premium Integrated Matrix).
The multi-density EPS liner inserted inside the helmet plays a major role in absorbing impacts. This multi-density layer distributes the impact to protect your head from a major injury. But, don’t take it for granted because a helmet can only protect you to a certain limit. Protection is all up to you – how careful you are on the road while riding a motorcycle.
In a nutshell, the HJC RPHA ST is one of the best full-face motorcycle helmets in this price range that can be used in sport and touring.
Face Shield & Visor
The HJC RPHA ST features the HJ-20ST Optically Superior Anti-Scratch Pinlock Face shield that has an anti-scratch coating and provides 95% protection from UV rays.
Now we are talking!
Because this is a new 3D design, the optically superior shield that has been called the ultimate anti-fog system, comes with the Pinlock 100% Maximum Vision fog-resistant lens. It also has the Innovative Center One-Touch Open/Close Locking System for a secure and tight seal.
It also features the RapidFire II Shield Replacement System, which is the latest technology on the market by HJC that provides a simpler and quicker way to install and remove your visor. So, within seconds you can remove the visor to clean it and replace it.
Not just that, the HJC RPHA ST comes with another remarkable feature of One-touch Integrated Smoke-tinted Sun Shield with 2 positions.
Overall, I would say that the face shield and visor in the RPHA ST is outstanding. It is surprising to see such features for the rider’s visibility in this price range.
Definitely, worth it.
Ventilation System
HJC uses the advanced channeling ventilation system (AC-S) that it has been using in its top-of-the-line helmets for optimal airflow. This technology is recognized for providing full front-to-back airflow to the rider. In doing so, it uses two large intake vents – one at the top and another at the chin.
If we talk about the top vent, it is a large vent at the center of the forehead with a single slider to allow cool air to pass inside the helmet through the inlet cut into the EPS liner to direct the air through to the rider’s forehead. To control the airflow, the rider can use the slider to channel it, even with gloves on. The existing hot air inside the helmet is flushed out through the exhaust ports of the helmet.
The chin vent has a large vent too. This vent can be channeled to allow the air inside the helmet to the facial area. This chin vent is also helpful during rainy and colder days.
In short, the ventilation system of the HJC RPHA ST is simply amazing. With the combination of the other features, you can really take advantage of this full-face helmet.
Interior & Comfortability
Once again, the RPHA ST proved that it has the ability to compete with big brand premium helmets.
HJC did a remarkable job in the comfort segment because the RPHA ST features the latest removable/washable moisture-wicking and odor-free interior comfort liner that will keep you sweat-free all day. This interior technology of HJC is called the SilverCool Plus Interior that contains tiny strands of silver with anti-bacterial properties and a premium soft feel with Ginkgo extract.
Plus, the cheek pads of the RPHA ST are interchangeable throughout all helmet sizes.

The RPHA ST’s broad chin and crown vents play a fundamental role in providing plenty of fresh air. That results in excellent ventilation for riders. However, the large chin curtain prevents air from leaving the helmet that will make the sun visor fog up instantly and removing the chin curtain during the winter can give you an icy face. The SilverCool Plus comfort lining is moisture-wicking; it is also easy to remove and wash. The helmet is significantly light as well; you won’t feel much of weight while wearing it. The sun shield is easy to remove and wash as well. For the most part, the helmet is quite comfortable but it may put pressure on the rider’s forehead because of the extra space needed for the sun visor. This sometimes makes it difficult for long rides.
There are better helmets out there when it comes to long trips. When it comes to visual appeal, the RPHA ST is smooth and shiny and definitely looks great. Another plus point is the large aperture of the helmet that gives the rider a good, wide view of both sides of the road ahead. There are a few negatives, but the HJC RPHA ST is definitely a fitting helmet in this price range.
