AGV is renowned for making high-quality full-face motorcycle helmets that are extremely lightweight and stylish. This reputable Italian manufacturer has now updated their most popular lineup with a new model.
The K6 helmet is the brand’s flagship in the category of premium street-oriented motorcycle helmets and it is supposed to compete with the biggest guys on the market such as the Shoei RF-1200 or HJC RPHA 11 Pro.
In this short review, I am going to show you some of the most interesting features and aspects of the AGV K6 motorcycle helmet and tell you why it is one of the absolute best motorcycle helmets the money can buy in 2024.
AGV K6 Motorcycle Helmet Review
Shell Design & Protection
Shell design is always a strong point of every AGV helmet and the K6 is no exception. It has a less aggressive style compared to some other helmets from this brand and there is no big spoiler in the back, but it still looks totally amazing in my opinion.
The helmet is both DOT and ECE certified for safety, so you can be assured your head stays safe during the event of an accident. The outer shell is constructed from carbon-aramid, a super-strong yet lightweight material that is made from a combination of carbon and aramid fibers. This is the main reason why the K6 helmet weighs only 2.95 lbs (1.33 kg) and feels so light and comfortable. The inner EPS liner consists of 5 different densities and it is specifically designed to absorb impacts during a crash.
The AGV K6 motorcycle helmet comes with an intermediate oval shape and it is available in 4 different shell sizes ranging from XS to 2XL. This will further reduce the potential weight of the helmet, as you can choose the exact size that suits you best and don’t have any extra bulk on your head.
Face Shield & Visor
The face shield of the AGV K6 helmet is 4mm thick and it comes with a pre-installed Pinlock anti-fog insert. There is an anti-scratch coating and UV protection, which are both common features on most motorcycle helmets nowadays.
What is not that common on motorcycle helmets is a flat shield with a center-lock system, which is a feature you will usually find on a racing helmet. It will provide proper seal against elements and ensure perfect vision under all circumstances. Another thing that makes the helmet stand out from others is its innovative pivot shield mechanism. It is much more compact than a regular shield mechanism and makes the helmet even smaller and lighter that it would otherwise be.
Ventilation & Airflow
Now, this is where this helmet disappointed me a little. If you have been wearing some of the AGV helmets before, you know that they are some of the best ventilated helmets out there. Usually, if you wanted a full-face helmet with a good airflow, AGV was the one to pick. However, the ventilation of the K6 is average at best.
The helmet features that typical AGV’s air vents layout we are so familiar with. There is a small adjustable intake vent in the chin bar and a horizontal line of larger air vents in the forehead area. Apart from that, you will also find a wide rear exhaust vent in the back of the helmet. Unfortunately, these vents are not as effective as they should be and therefore, I wouldn’t recommend wearing this helmet during hot summer days.
Interior & Comfort
As I already mentioned earlier, the AGV K6 is super-comfortable to wear. Thanks to its lightweight design and compact size, the helmet can be worn on long rides and you don’t have to worry about neck pain or muscle fatigue.
The interior comfort liner is both removable and washable, and on top of that, it is also eyeglass-friendly. The upper part of the interior (crown) and the cheek pads are made from the Shalimar and Ritmo fabric. The helmet features AGV’s 2Dry moisture wicking system, which absorbs sweat and keeps the helmet dry for long periods of time.
The AGV K6 comes equipped with a removable breath guard and a regular double-D chinstrap mechanism. Additionally, there is also a water-resistant neck roll which improves the seal and durability of the helmet. The K6 helmet is relatively quiet and there is almost zero wind noise coming into the interior.
Bluetooth Compatibility
With the AGV K6 helmet, you will be able to use any type of a motorcycle Bluetooth communication device, so you can talk to your friends or listen to music on the go. You can easily install one of the most popular motorcycle Bluetooth headsets such as the Sena 30k or Cardo Packtalk Bold.
Apart from that, the K6 helmet is also compatible with AGV’s ARK intercom system, which is designed to integrate perfectly with the shell and maintain its aerodynamic stability.

Conclusion
Safety Airflow Comfort Noise Value
The AGV K6 is without a doubt one of the greatest full-face motorcycle helmets on the market today. It is significantly lighter than most other helmets in this category and the level of comfort is outstanding. It features one of the best shield mechanisms you will find on any motorcycle helmet and the vision from the inside is excellent. The only small downside of this helmet is its rather poor ventilation system. But, you can always remove the chin curtain for some extra airflow.
So, if you are looking for a Bluetooth-friendly helmet that is lightweight, stylish and comfortable, and you don’t mind the airflow, then the AGV K6 will surely serve you well. For a price of around $500, I think this is a pretty good deal.
